چکیده

Background: Dermatophytosis is considered one of the most common public health problems in world and commonly diagnosed skin disease Bangladesh. The prevalence types dermatophyte infections vary with climate conditions, age, lifestyle, population migration patterns. Depending upon anatomical site lesion, dermatophytes are classified into different varieties. Objective: To isolate their antifungal susceptibility pattern by agar-based disc diffusion method Rajshahi region.
Materials Methods: Clinical samples (e.g., scrapings, nail clipping, hair plucking) were collected under aseptic precautions. identification was performed through a microscopic examination using 10% KOH mount, mycological culture, species lactophenol cotton blue mount from culture. In addition, all isolates subjected to testing method.
Results: Out 171 samples, Trichophyton rubrum predominant 76(71.7%), followed T.mentagrophyte 15(14.2%), E. floccosum 12(11.3%), M. canis 03(2.8%). Voriconazole Itraconazole more effective drugs. Griseofulvin least drug, Fluconazole.
Conclusion: Despite several treatment options being available for cutaneous fungal infections, Due increasing trend drug resistance among dermatophytes, should be based on sensitivity testing. simple valuable evaluation dermatophytes.

Agar-based disk diffusion assay for susceptibility testing of dermatophytes.

Currently, no agar-based susceptibility testing method has been standardized for testing dermatophytes. We describe a newly developed agar-based method employing disk diffusion assay to test the susceptibility of 47 isolates of dermatophytes against 8 antifungals. Our results show that the method is reproducible, is simple, and could be used to determine the antifungal susceptibility of dermato...

Helicobacter pylori susceptibility testing by disc diffusion.

The bacterium Helicobacter pylori is found in c. 40% of the population and is responsible for the development of duodenal disease. Triple treatment with a proton-pump inhibitor or bismuth salt plus two antibiotics is now commonplace in all patients diagnosed. As antibiotic resistance reduces treatment efficacy, it is time to consider routine susceptibility testing to guide individual patient tr...

Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of dermatophytes--comparison of the agar macrodilution and broth microdilution tests.

Fifty dermatophyte strains, recently obtained from clinical material, belonging to 4 different species were examined for their susceptibility to 5 systemic or topical antimycotic agents using both an agar macrodilution and a broth microdilution test. Antimycotics compared were griseofulvin, itraconazole, sertaconazole, terbinafine and ciclopiroxolamine. A comparison of the minimum inhibitory co...
